About FlickerLab

Storytelling is behind all projects at FlickerLab, a New York-based production, content development, animation, and graphic design studio. FlickerLab and its brain-trust of creatives (writers, directors, animators, producers, programmers and designers) are ready to partner with our clients at any point in the process, from napkin sketch to post-production. FlickerLab consistently strives to get the most creativity and highest quality out of their projects, whatever the budget. Whether it is concept-to-screen development and production (either client-generated or in-house), design and execution of commercials or broadcast promotion, or development of a comprehensive web presence, our creative approach remains innovative and effective.

Since its start-up in 1999 by founder/creative director Harold Moss, FlickerLab has been exploring and exploiting innovation at the intersection of broadcast and technology. A recognized pioneer in the use of Flash software for broadband and broadcast animation, Moss was a co-writer and director of the weekly broadband animated series, This Modern World by Tom Tomorrow. In 2004, FlickerLab partnered to develop and produce the branded entertainment interstitials Working Wonders for the Samantha: An American Girl Holiday movie sponsored by Procter and Gamble and American Girl. Our feature film animation and title work can be seen in the upcoming Lions Gate release, Fierce People and in Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 911 and Bowling for Columbine. The studio is currently in production on a series of DVDs for Hooked on phonics and recently completed two animated pilots for Playhouse Disney.

FlickerLab has continued to build on its early involvement in creative development for the internet. The studio has just commenced pre-production on an original animated series for Comedy Central’s broadband initiative, Motherload. For Planned Parenthood, FlickerLab took a new approach to the birds and the bees (“How Pregnancy Happens”) with concept development, script writing and production of a highly successful viral, online PSA.

FlickerLab and its principals have worked with a wide range of clients including; PBS, Noggin, Playhouse Disney, Nickelodeon, Bravo, Comedy Central, ShowTime, Discovery Networks, Lifetime, A&E, The WB, Warner Bros. Animation, MTV, Cartoon Network, Grey Worldwide, Bassat Ogilvy, McCann Erickson, Lion’s Gate Films, Dog Eat Dog Films, Proctor & Gamble, Johnson and Johnson, Kaplan Thaler Group,  and Microsoft among others.
